Fall is finally here!

It’s our favorite time of the year: crisp autumn air, beautiful foliage and the smell of fires in the hearth. Wait a minute. Maybe that’s fall in New England, but it’s lovely here as well. And, it’s a busy season at Breakaway PR. We recently helped with the launch of Make It Movement, a new campaign highlighting the tremendous range of opportunities for skilled labor training and careers throughout Texas and the country. We’re excited for the City of Georgetown‘s fall and holiday events; just wrapped up the annual, inspiring AIA Austin Homes Tour and can’t miss Waterloo Greenway‘s upcoming Creek Show Preview Party.

The role of public relations in destination marketing is a valuable piece of the marketing pie among metropolitan areas, but lesser understood or utilized with smaller and mid-sized towns and attractions. Many of these towns, like our friends in Georgetown, Texas, have ample opportunities to promote themselves via the power of PR. A can’t-miss annual downtown Austin event begins this week! Waterloo Greenway Conservancy’s Creek Show starts November 7 along Red River St. and is free to the public. This 11-night event features light-based art that attracted more than 50,000 visitors last year. And you can’t find a better event icon than the amphibious Waller Creek creature below:

Be sure to check out the Second Annual Red, White & Bourbon to benefit our favorite Texas museum, the National Museum of the Pacific War, over Veteran’s Day weekend on November 9, at Garrison Brothers Distillery in Hye, Texas. The event honors our veterans with a special blend of pop-ups, activities and, of course, plenty of hand-crafted whiskey. For more information and tickets, visit here.
