Girls Impact the World Film Festival 2019
Connecther, the producer and nonprofit behind the annual Girls Impact the World Film Festival, wanted a PR firm to help build awareness, reputation and ultimately increase ticket sales to its independent film festival and scholarship program focused on issues facing women and girls around the world. Breakaway PR was thrilled to become involved as not only a PR partner, but in-kind sponsor, for an event that brings together inspiring women – and a few men! – from around the world.
To highlight the direct impact the festival has on hundreds of women across the world, Breakaway PR tapped into a multipronged approach that allowed us to reach local and national audiences. With an all-star group of judges such as Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder, as well as long-time supporters including Eloise and John Paul DeJoria and film producer, Elizabeth Avellán, along with a record number of entries from 42 countries, we wanted to ensure GITWFF’s message was heard across multiple channels and outlets. Tactics include calendar listings, feature story pitching, media sponsorships and social media giveaways.
Our efforts resulted in 33 pieces of coverage with an estimated 212,000 page views plus TV segments reaching over 36,000 households in just a two-month period. Connecther happily reported an increase of 30% in ticket sales.
